This fantastic recipe uses delicious fresh peaches and is a versatile topping for everything from tacos to grilled chicken or your favorite chips. This salsa is a true celebration of summer, perfect for when summer produce is at its peak!

Peach season in the upper Midwest stretches through September, and luckily, I'm still finding fresh peaches in our local Wisconsin grocery stores. I made this Peach Avocado Salad and I couldn't resist making one last batch of fresh peach salsa before these juicy gems disappear for the year! Speaking of Mangoes, have you tried our Mango Shrimp Ceviche yet?

There's nothing like the combination of sweet peaches, ripe mangoes, and fresh herbs to make this salsa a refreshing yet spicy experience. While many salsas focus solely on tomatoes, this twist brings in juicy, seasonal fruits, creating a personal favorite that's a great way to enjoy fresh fruit.

And for those who like a bit of kick with their sweetness. Yes, there's a touch of jalapeño for a delightful balance! It's the perfect way to enjoy a refreshing salsa that isn't just delicious but unique.

See the Printable recipe card at the bottom of this post for quantities

measured ingredients for peach mango salsa
    • Ripe peaches and Fresh Mango - nothing beats juicy ripe peaches and a delicious tropical sweetness from mangoes. If fresh peaches are not available, frozen peaches are a suitable substitute.
    • Red onion – raw onions add a bit of tang and color.
    • Red bell pepper - for a slight crunch and vibrant colors. You can substitute red with any colored bell peppers of your preference.
    • Fresh Roma Tomatoes - for a bit of classic salsa flavor. Halved cherry tomatoes work well too.
    • Jalapeño - for some spice! Adjust based on your heat preference.
    • Cilantro - fresh mint or fresh basil leaves can also work for a different twist or if you are not a fan of cilantro.

    Dressing Ingredients

    • Lime Juice - Fresh is best! In the absence of fresh limes, you can also sub with fresh lemon juice or a splash of orange juice.
    • Lime (zest) - Adds a zesty brightness. Trust me!
    • Honey - Optional, but it rounds out the flavor and an extra touch of natural sweetness. I like to soften it by warming it up for ease of mixing.
    • Salt - Balances the sweetness.
    • A touch of Extra Virgin Olive Oil (optional) - Adds depth, flavor, and a smoother texture.

Optional Substitutions: For a slight twist, you can try substituting with Apple Cider Vinegar or Champagne Vinegar instead of lime juice. For extra crunch, toss in diced Persian Cucumbers.
Want to make it creamy? Add Creamy avocado.

    Instructions

This recipe is very simple to make. Chop, toss, season, and enjoy.

chopped ingredients for peach mango salsa recipe
peach mango salsa recipe in bowl
    • Dice the peaches and mango in about ½ inch cubes for a chunky salsa. The red onion, red pepper, tomatoes, and jalapeño in a smaller dice size, like 1/4" inch. The dice size is more up to the size and texture of your preference. You can keep it rustic or go for fine dice; it's your choice!
    • Mix in the diced fruits and veggies in a large bowl. Combining them gently is essential to avoid bruising the fruits.
    • Whisk the lime juice, zest, salt, honey, and extra virgin olive oil (if using) in a separate bowl. Toss in the chopped cilantro and mix.
    • Toss and Taste – Mix everything gently but thoroughly. Taste and adjust the salt. Need more sweetness? Add a dash of more honey. Want a higher spice level? Increase the Jalapeño Peppers.
    • Chill and Serve — For best results, let the flavors meld for 15-20 minutes. This salsa is great with tortilla chips or as a refreshing side.

    Recipe Variations

    • Make it a main meal – Serve with rice, shrimp, or diced chicken to turn this salsa into a light, summery bowl. Or use it as a topping for fish tacos or pork chops.
    • Customize your dish—this salsa makes a perfect side dish by being layered over a bed of greens for a summery salad. The options are endless, from butter lettuce to peppery arugula, crisp romaine, or baby spinach. For that extra crunch, you can add your personal touch with crunchy almonds, pine nuts, or pumpkin seeds.
    • Play with the dressing – Try a touch of balsamic vinegar for an extra flavor boost.

    Storage suggestions

Store leftover salsa in an airtight container in the refrigerator to keep it fresh. It’ll stay delicious for up to 2-3 days.

Delicious. I ate a good amount of it straight from the bowl with a spoon! It went beautifully with blackened salmon, and the next day I added it to santa fe chicken salad - superb!
