If you're searching for a refreshing, tropical twist on a classic cocktail, this Guava Caipirinha (Brazilian Guava Cocktail Recipe) is your new favorite! With just a few ingredients, including a homemade guava nectar reduction.
This cold guava caipirinha cocktail is easy to make, deliciously unique, and perfect for any occasion. It's an ideal addition to your collection of cocktail recipes that will make your guests feel like they've traveled to a sunny beach in Brazil!
My first sip of Guava Caipirinha was on Ipanema Beach in Rio de Janeiro 10 years ago. Yes! The same Ipanema from the famous song! I fell in love with Caipirinhas then. It literally was love at first sight, LOL! โค๏ธ๐
The Brazilian Pink Guava Juice in that Caipirinha was unforgettable โ rich, sweet, and fruity. To recreate that experience at home, I've used a simple guava nectar reduction to intensify the guava flavor, so I can confidently say every sip transports you back to Brazil. Trust me, this recipe is as close as it gets to sipping cocktails by the shore!
And while you are here. Try this Passion Fruit Caipirinha recipe (yes, another love at first sight in Rio!) ย ๐๐คค

๐ฝ Equipment
To make this easy cocktail, I use a saucepan to make the guava nectar reduction. A highball glass to make the drink and keep it simple. But you can use a Cocktail Shaker if you feel fancy. And a muddler (or a wooden spoon will do the trick).
๐Ingredients and Substitutions
Only four ingredients are needed for this delightful Brazilian cocktail.

Ingredient notes
- Limes โ Fresh lime is vital to the classic Caipirinha flavor.
- White Sugar โ Granulated sugar is typical for Caipirinhas. While some might suggest simple syrup, traditional recipes get their zest by muddling lime and sugar to release the lime juice.
- Cachaรงa Liquor โ Cachaรงa is a Brazilian spirit made from sugar cane, like rum. I use Leblon Cachaรงa but feel free to use your favorite brand.
- Homemade Guava Nectar Reduction โ This is it, the most flavorful part of the cocktail. You can also use Guava Puree, but the homemade reduction adds a fantastic, concentrated flavor.
๐นHow to Make Guava Caipirinha
Here are the simple and easy steps you need to know to make this fantastic Guava Caipirinha.
STEP 1: MAKE THE GUAVA NECTAR REDUCTION
- I use Jumex store-bought guava nectar because it's more widely available, but any brand will work well.
- Pour guava nectar into a small saucepan.
- Simmer over medium heat until it reduces by half (about 10-15 minutes)
- Step 4: This Guava Nectar reduction is perfect for this Caipirinha and many other drinks like Guava Mojitos or a Fruit Smoothie. This simple trick gives the drink a delightful, intense guava flavor!
STEP 2: PREPARE THE COCKTAIL
- Step 1: Begin by cutting the lime lengthwise into 2 pieces, then cut again in half. As shown in the photo, you'll end up with 4 longitudinal quarter pieces. Trim off the white membrane separating the sections. Cut crosswise into 8 pieces and place them in your serving glass.
- Step 2: Add the sugar, then use a muddler to press down on the lime and sugar.
- Step 3: This releases the lime juice and mixes it with the sugar, creating a balanced, tangy-sweet base.
- Step 4: Add the homemade guava nectar reduction and Cachaรงa, then fill the glass with ice. Stir everything together with a cocktail spoon. Take a sip and let this tropical cocktail take you straight to the beaches of Brazil!
Storage
Store leftover Guava Nectar Reduction in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 7 days.
And there you have it โ a fantastic Guava Caipirinha. This Brazilian Guava Cocktail recipe is simple to make, packed with flavor, and guaranteed to become one of your favorite cocktail recipes!
Cheers! Salud! ๐น

- Pour 2 Cups of Guava Nectar into a small saucepan. Simmer over medium heat until it reduces by half (about 10-15 minutes). Let it cool down.
- For every 8-oz cup of Guava Nectar, you get approximately 1/2 cup (4 ounces) of Guava reduction or the equivalenrt to One-Caipirinha cocktail. This recipe uses 2-cups of Guava Nectar, so you get Two-Caipirinhas. Refrigerate any leftover nectar.
